Norwood Municipal Records
in the Norwood Historical Society Archives

  • Invoices from Dexter Lumber Company
    • March 11, 1914
    • September 15, 1914
    • March 3, 1914
  • [A1] General Election Status for 1959 - a blueprint of the election results for the City of Norwood, November 3, 1959, and witnessed November 13, 1959.
  • [A2] Election Results of 1932 - a 14-1/2"x18" spreadsheet style record of the number of votes for the judicial positions, water bond and sewer issues for the City of Norwood, November 4, 1932
  • [A2] "Relation Between Intensity & Duration of Rain Fall At Norwood Ohio From 1871 to 1915" - a 28-1/2"x19" inked chart by John G. Schmidt, City Engineer. It was probably used for storm sewer requirement calculations. Since, it is doubtful that anyone was recording rainfall in Sharpsburg in 1871, at least the early data was probably based on Cincinnati readings.
  • [A3] Letter to Mayor Englehart - This 5"x7-3/4" sheet of paper is dated September 1, 1915. It has some tears and creases with some very faint writing.
    Norwood, Ohio
    7-1-15
    Mayor Englehart
You probably do not know that Frank Smith keeps his cafe open on Sundays.
Please take it in hands as it makes my home very unpleasant on Sunday. They go in the back way from Carthage pike.

  • Norwood Health Department - October 26, 1918 Report
Click on the images to see the Norwood Health Department's October 26, 1918, report. Not surprisingly, the main health problem at the time (for Norwood and the world) was flu. Other interesting items were eight spitting signs posted and a pig pen inspection.
